Physicochemical Properties

A mixture containing >80% acermectin Bia and <20% avermectin Bib. the product is cololess to pale yellow crystals. M.P.:.150-155

Solubility: in water 7-10¦Ìg/l (20), in toluene 35o, acetone 100, isopropanol 70, chloroform 25, etanol 20, methanol 19.5, n-butanol 10, cyclohexane 6 ( all in g/l, 21).

Toxicity:

Acute oral LD50 for rats is 10mg/kg.

Acute dermal LD50 for rabbits > 2000 mg/kg.

Mild eye irrirant, non-irritating to skin(rabbits).

Uses:

Abamectin is used to control insect and mite pests of citrus, pear, and nut tree crops, and it is used by homeowners for control of fire ants.
