Pendimethalin is an orange-yellow crystalline solid; melting point, 54~58°C; vapour pressure, 40Pa(25°C). Solubility in water, <0.5mg/l, readily soluble in chlorinated hydrocarbons and aromatic hydrocarbons. Stable to acids and alkalis. Active ingredient in technical, 90.0%.

Toxicity:

Acute oral LD50 technical for rats, 1250mg/kg. Acute dermal LD50 for mice, 1620mg/kg. No carcinogenic, mutagenic and teratogenic effects at experimental dosage. High toxic to fish and aquatic organisms. Low toxic to bees and birds, oral LD50 for bees, 59.0mg/kg, acute oral LD50 for wigeon 10g/kgd. Acute oral LD50 of 33% EC for rats, 2.9g/kg(male) and 2.7g/kg(female), acute dermal for male rabbits 6.8g/kg, acute inhale for rats >475mg/m3.
